With easy access from the M1, the site is a huge area with flat sites for caravans, motor homes & tents with limited powered sites, oodles of unpowered sites, water, hot showers, large undercover area (for inclement weather), plenty of parking, camp kitchen, gas heaters and/or campfires (BYO chair); and it’s kid and pet friendly (dogs must be kept on a leash at all times!).   [Note – NO Glass allowed on the sports fields]

SessionFest is where you create the event, the atmosphere & the music.  Come and sing, play, recite, yarn, swap, learn, teach and encourage.

Some structured programming is provided including our usual –

  • Saturday & Sunday night themed Concerts;
  • Blackboard performance opportunities;
  • Poetry and Yarns sessions;
  • Evening sessions around the fire drums / braziers  TBA/ gas heaters;
  • Music, Singing and Tune Workshops (not yet confirmed).
  • Also, soup kitchen & mulled wine Saturday & Sunday evenings; tea/coffee available all weekend!

And for the rest of the time, session with old friends and/or make some new ones.

Of course, Session Etiquette applies.

CAMPING

NOTE: ALL Camping MUST be pre booked VIA THE NEWCASTLE & HUNTER VALLEY FOLK CLUB (Wangi Point Holiday park is NOT handling camping bookings this year!)  SEE TryBooking QR code below.

Powered sites Couple $33, Single $16.50/night/site, Unpowered sites Couple $24, Single $12/night/site.

WEEKEND PASS (to cover venue hire & expenses) is $15 per person

OR  DAY PASS is $5 per person, payable on entry or via TryBooking (link and QR code below).  Children 16 and under accompanied by an adult FREE.

Most SessonFest activities will take place at the showground venues – Concert room, Kitchen and Breezeway.  The marquee “Beehive” will also be set up as a Session Tent.  We are once again permitted to have fire drums / braziers at the campground this year!  YAY!! 😀
Volunteers are needed, please report to Bilbo to install the “Beehive” Session Tent on the Campground on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM so this can be completed before dark at about 5:30 PM.  Volunteers are needed to set up the Concert Room & Breezeway on Saturday afternoon from 3:00pm.  Please register for volunteering by calling or texting Matthew Clarke 0427 499 336
