In association with Tradewinds Folk, we are thrilled to present this rare opportunity to hear one of Ireland’s finest singer songwriters.
Perhaps best known for writing ‘Only A Woman’s Heart’, the title track of an anthology album that has gone on to be the best selling album in Irish history, Eleanor returns to Australia for the first time since March 2020, when her tour was abruptly cut short by the onset of the COVID pandemic.
Having released her 16th album “Gimme Some Wine” to rave reviews, Eleanor is now back on the road following the subsequent release of her latest single “South Anne Street”, which has resonated with audiences around the world.
Eleanor began her career as a session musician in Dublin, playing for numerous recordings and artists including U2, Sinead O’Connor and Mary Black. She was also a violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland for five years, but her real passion was always songwriting. Her sometimes quirky, perceptive songs range from love ballads and story-telling, to left-of-centre takes on the vagaries of everyday life.
